Indigo Flowers

Join Iris for this one day indigo patterning workshop at the beautiful Sitka Center for Art & Ecology on Cascade head on the Oregon Coast near Lincoln City.

This one-day workshop invites the indigo-curious to explore patterns of flowers both real and imaginary. Using fold, clamp and shift techniques with a variety of clamp shapes students will be empowered to play like pollinators. Techniques practiced have wide use to create infinite radial designs with indigo. We will look at examples in nature and create several small samples and one larger piece. The basics of how an indigo vat works will be discussed. Students will be given a detailed packet that will contain information to help create future vats in their own studios and leave with a finished project.

Can be taken in tandem with the Moon in Indigo workshop the following day.

Workshop takes place at Sitka Center.
